Founded the company in October 2014. Prior to Blue Abyss John began his working career in the British Army, which he joined aged 16.

Whilst serving in the army in Gibraltar, John formally learnt to SCUBA dive as part of the army’s leadership development approach, although he had been swimming since he was 18 months old. 

John left the army in 1991.

Subsequent spells in management consultancy in a London firm and then roles in IBM and GE Capital IT Solutions gave John a thorough grounding in international businesses and helped hone his leadership skills and style.
